Our review
Kaspersky's technical product is top-tier — perfect AV-TEST scores for years. But the geopolitical situation around Russian software has effectively eliminated it from US/EU enterprise markets. For consumer users outside high-risk professions, the product itself remains excellent if you can put aside jurisdiction concerns.
Pros
- Perfect AV-TEST scores (consistent multi-year)
- Unlimited-data Kaspersky VPN bundled
- Excellent anti-phishing protection
- System Watcher (behavioral analysis) catches zero-days
- Light resource footprint
Cons
- US Government banned for federal use (2017)
- FBI advisory against use post-Ukraine war (2022)
- Russian parent company (Moscow HQ)
- Brand reputation damaged by geopolitical concerns
- No dedicated parental controls on Plus tier
